A few creations

One of my best friends is getting married this weekend. Unfortunately, I will not be able to go to the wedding, because we already had plans to go out of town, when they decided a month ago to finally get married. They have been together 7 yrs. and have 4 kids. Her colors are white and red, so I wanted to make a special and elegant card for them for their gift basket I made.

The gift basket had a personalized bottle of wine with their date on it, 8 candles, candy, a picture frame with I Do on it, and an accordion album that I made.

The basket:

Busy, busy, busy

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but man life has been busy. I have been doing s few great swaps and getting the reality games going. My furbaby has been very sick and we had to make an emergency trip to an all night vet that was 45 mins away at 2 in the morning this past Sat. He is doing much better now thank God. We were so scared.

I am in the process of going through pictures for 5-8 scrapbooks for the VFW that I will be making. I have hundreds of pics to sort going as far back as the early 90's so far. I printed over 200 just for 2007! I have to make a scrapbook for the Aux. president and one for her twin sister that is our commander and then the other pics will go into scrapbooks that will be in the bar/club area that our members can look through. And I am creating a blog for them.

Here are pics of the inchie swap that I participated in. The inchies I created are the birdie in the 1st pic and the BOO ghost in the 3rd pic.

I used watercolor paper, embossed the inchie with my cuttlebug and then watercolored it with CTMH inks.

I used mat board, stamped the black image and used embossing powder, then rubbed glue over the white area and sprinkled with glitter. Then added wiggly eyes!

Finally, back online!!!!

Well, last Sunday we got the remnants of Ike here in Ohio in the form of 75 mph winds. It was really wild outside, the wind was swirling in all directions. Trees are down everywhere, a section of my fence blew down and my daycare kids sand and water table went end over end through the back yard. I never lost power, but I did lose cable/internet for a week. Some people are still without power a week later. So I am trying to get caught up on over 600 emails and the reality scrap games. We still need players, if anyone wants to have fun a get new scrap goodies, join us.

Dog owners...please read

As a dog owner, I have to post this for others to see and be aware of. This is such a sad story caused by one little rubber ball. PLEASE, PLEASE at least look at this blog to see if you own this ball. If you do throw it away immediately. This is not the only dog it has happend to and the makers know of the problem and deny that it has happend before.

Card Puzzler Swap Creations

Have you heard of a Card Puzzler Swap? Here are the basics...Design a card, cut the papers and cardstock and stamp your images. Send each person enough to make 2 cards, everything but the card base and embellishments. The receivers have no idea of what your original designed looked like. They take the pieces and build a card and embellish as they wish. Then send 1 back to you. I love seeing the different designs with the same pieces.

Here is one I designed and the other ladies creations.....Enjoy!

Scrap lifted and shortcut card and more

My friend had a baby girl on Friday and she named her Violet, she also has twin daughters..Lili and Rose and a son Jacob. I scrap lifted this card from the Spring IB and shortcutted it by using Stickease for the flower pot babies instead of stamping them. Everything is CTMH except the flower.I used our corner rounder to make the scallops and punched them with the cropadile then chalked with yellow and orange pastels. I foam dotted the flower pots for dimension.

I have updated and added more blogs on my website and I am adding more. Go to scrapjaci to see some wonderful creations and great tips and ideas. If you are a user of Copic markers or interested in learning about them check out the "I Like Markers" blog. I don't own copics, but have been thinking of purchasing some after seeing the beautiful artwork that has been created using them.

There are also great blogs that use Bellas, Hannas and one of the newest stamp sensations Magnolia stamps. These are so adorable and I really need to purchase a few of them.

I am also in the process of reformatting a few new documents for your use and will post them this week on the website. I also have more artwork that I will be posting on here this week. Have a wonderful Fourth of July...be safe and have fun!

My scrap room is finished

Well, I finally have my scrap room finished, for the most part lol! I still need to organize my papers and card stock and make more folders for sticker categories and organize my embellishments, but I can use my desk now and see the floor! It is a small alcove that is supposed to be my dining room (who needs a room to eat in...having a place to scrap and create is much more important!)

#1 The whole room

#2 Left side...Wishblade, radio, cuttlebug, paper holder, stickers in the file drawer, items to be altered, odds and ends and daycare business items.

#3 My desk

#4 Right side...CTMH business items, stamp sets, punches, coluzzles and items waiting to go in a scrapbook.

Thanks for stopping by and post any questions you may have.

Scraproom update

I have my shelves hung, and most of my stuff put away. I am still finding places for everything. I have to get my computer and printer and few other things moved this weekend and then I will take the pics.

My daughter is still waiting on the results of her state boards, she is convinced that she has fail them, since her best friend got her results yesterday. She is at work today and made me promise that I would not check the site to see if she passed and let me tell you....it is KILLING me!!!!

Keep sending prayers that she passes please and thank you for all of the wonderful comments.

My scrap room

Well, I am in the middle of hanging new shelving in my scraproom, I am hoping it will make the space brighter, less cluttered and more functional. I currently have holes drilled in my wall and have to wait until all of the daycare kids are picked up so I can make a run to Lowe's and get different drywall anchors. The ones I bought are too short!

I am so excited to get the shelves up so I can find my scrap desk again and get back to creating, oh and stamping and making the 45 graduation party invitations by next Friday! My daughter takes her RN state boards on Tuesday, so if you could spare a little prayer or good wish please do, her name is Natasha. She wants to be a NICU nurse at Children's Hospital.

I will post pics of my room when it is finished.

TTFN and have a great weekend!

Dahlia Fold

Ok, so I have been trying to do the Dahlia Fold and I am having so much problem with papers.

I wanted a bold printed paper on one side and a softer pattern of some sort on the backside. CTMH papers are plain colors on the backside, two sided papers from my LSS are more like cardstock and HARD to fold and the white core shows through when I fold it.

I think I am going to have to go to the dark side (lol) and purchase papers from a competing company. I am just kidding...I am in no way a purist creator. So, as soon as I get new papers I will attempt them again and post the pics.

I did create Origami Butterflies for a fellow consultant whose friend has Cancer. She is trying to collect 1,000 paper butterflies. I sent in 35 to help. My smallest one was 1" and it was hard to fold, but I wanted to see how small I could go!

My daughter is graduating from Nursing school tonight, so I am off to create a graduation card.

TTFN and have a great weekend!

What I did this weekend

The VFW had a HOSPICE benefit on Sat. and I made a dog and a cat gift basket for them to auction off. Well, who knew my little ol' baskets would raise so much money. They sold for $55 each!!! Last year I made a basket with bath & body works products and it only went for $25 and the year before I made 2 scrapbooks that were all red, white and blue and they went for $35 each. I guess animal items are the way to go.

The dog basket had 2 picture frames, 3 bandanas, 3 toys, shampoo, 2 bags of homemade treats and a squashbook that I made.

The kitty basket had 2 frames, 2 baggies of catnip, several toys, 2 bags of homemade treats, and a squashbook.

Trying a new creation

I know this paper folding technique is not new, but it is new to me. The Dahlia Fold. I love the look of this and I will be creating hopefully beautiful flowers with it tonight. I had to go to several stores before I found 2 sided paper, finally found it at my LSS. Here is a link to the directions Dahlia Fold.

Another thing that I am finding interesting and intriguing are "Inchies". Have you heard of these? I have a couple of links for you to check them out. I will be creating these also.

What's going on this weekend

Hi!

Today is a dreary rainy Ohio day. I am in the process of re-doing my scrap area, so tonight I am going out to dinner, go shopping for my desktop shelves and then on to see "Horton Hears A Who!" I am so excited, I can't wait to see this movie. Growing up the Horton books were one of my favs (my most fav is Horton Hatches an Egg).

Tomorrow I am getting my hair done, going to dinner and the dance at the VFW for St. Patrick's Day. Hoping to work on my scrap area.

Sunday, I plan on doing more to my scrap area. I really wish I could paint my walls, but my landlord won't let me. I want my area finished and uncluttered so I can get to work on my card designs that I want to make.

TTFN and have a blessed weekend!

Blizzard

We had a blizzard that started on Fri. around 9am and continued until Sat. at 4pm. We had about a foot of snow that fell, and made a huge drift across the driveway that was up to my waist. Our fur baby Lil' Bit went out and played in the snow and had a ball. I got great pics for a layout, he was too cute.

My daughter and I spent time together, taking turns cooking the meals and plying games. We played Boggle and Guitar Hero II (I will not be joining a rock band any time in the near future lol).

TTFN and have a blessed day :0)

Where does the time go?????

I am so busy, that I feel like I am running in circles. My Uncle was admitted into the ICU on Jan. 27. He had severe pneumonia and was put on a ventilator. They finally removed it yesterday (Feb. 6) so I have been going to the hospital as often as possible.

I am getting things together for American Idol Scrap and doing the card puzzler swap. I am soooo behind on the puzzler, I feel like such a flaker...but everything is going postal today!!!! And I haven't been to the gym in 2 weeks and I can tell it, I am tired all the time and feel like crap. I really miss going, but I am planning on going Sat.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Catching up

Well, our family Christmas party was a lot of fun and very enjoyable. I have started a scrapbook of each year.

I am creating the first 2 rounds of the new card puzzler rounds. And I found an old one from last year, that got pushed behind stuff on my desk. I feel so bad and will send it out today.

I still have spots availabel for the American Idol Scrap game if anyone is interested. We have quite a few players and it should be great fun!

I have been checking the links and updating my daycare website www.jacischildcare.com and will be adding new goodies to www.scrapjaci.com in the next couple of days.

Take care and have a great day!

Busy start to a New Year

WOW, what a busy New Year so far. My dc kids have had the after Christmas grumpies, I have been signing lots of players up for American Idol Scrap game (Yipee!), we are having our family Christmas party on Sat., (delayed due to weather). I came up with the brilliant idea last week, to make a scrapbook from the past years and have it at the party, so I have been running around like a crazy woman trying to get it finished. And squeezing in time to make it to the gym. Well, I am off to scrapbook!
